The lighthouse walk coincides with the lowest tide of the year. It starts from Dalrymple Point and then you meander across the sand towards the lighthouse. There are many great opportunities for great photos, with an array of starfish; and the newly painted lighthouse.
Wear good shoes, and a hat. Easy walk over at low tide, but a certain level of fitness is required to climb the hill. Don’t dilly-dally or you will need to swim home.
It can be quite popular so you may follow groups of people. On the 11th August 2018 there will be extras, such as drinks, food and music after the walk on the mainland.
One of my/our favourite places to go in Bowen is the Bowen Summergardens Twin Cinemas, 40 Murroona St, Bowen, Queensland 4805.
It is a great place for a date night, ladies get-togethers, family time or sometimes when you can’t wait for anyone else and you choose to fly solo.
The staff are always helpful and welcoming. At the kiosk you can grab your favourite movie snacks and drinks for your adventure into movie land. There are two wonderful cinemas, one is smaller and modern; and the other is larger and holds onto some wonderful nostalgic figure heads. Both have fantastic screens and great surround sound.
Ben DeLuca has been the cinematographer for currently 63yrs, and later this year receives an award for this milestone. Ben is one of the reasons you keep going back. He makes you feel welcomed and special each time you attend.
